Ingredients for Greek salad dressing: olive oil, red wine vinegar, dijon mustard, oregano, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt

    What is it made of?

To make this Greek salad dressing recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

    • olive oil- Use extra virgin olive oil or virgin olive oil.
    • red wine vinegar- This is a star flavor in this recipe. Try to choose a good quality red wine vinegar.
    • onion powder
    • oregano- I like dried oregano for this dressing, but you can use fresh oregano. Don't skip on this spice! This is what gives it the Greek flavor.
    • Dijon mustard- Do not substitute with yellow mustard.
    • parsley- Fresh or dried parsley will work great for this dressing.
    • garlic powder-I think fresh garlic is a little overpowering in this recipe, but if you love garlic, you can use fresh garlic.
    • salt

Note: Some Greek dressing recipes call for lemon juice. I do not use lemon in this recipe. My Greek church cookbooks use red wine vinegar instead of lemon. It is also how they make the Greek dressings here locally at the restaurants. For me, lemon juice can be overpowering. However, if you prefer the lemon flavor, substitute red wine vinegar with lemon juice.
