This recipe makes a big batch meant for sharing. Everyone loves the sweet and salty combination.

Ingredients for crockpot candy peanut cluster-peanuts, German's chocolate, semi sweet chocolate chips, vanilla candy coating

    Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients to make crockpot candy.

    • dry roasted peanuts- I recommend salted peanuts. The salt compliments the sweet chocolate.
    • Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate -If you cannot find German's, you can substitute with semi sweet, but add 2 tablespoons of sugar.
    • semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • vanilla flavored candy coating or almond bark

Steps how to make crockpot candy

Follow these easy steps on how to make crockpot candy.

    1. In a crock-pot, pour the dry roasted peanuts.
    1. Add the Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate bars.
    1. Cover with semi-sweet chocolate chips.
    1. Top with vanilla flavored candy coating or almond bark.
    1. Cook on low heat for 2- 3 hours. Stir every 25-20 minutes.
    1. Drop heaping spoonfuls of clusters on parchment paper to cool or in individual cupcake liners.
    1. Once completely cooled and harden (approximately 30 minutes), store in an airtight container until ready to eat.

    Tip

After adding the clusters to the parchment paper, you can top with red, white, and green sprinkles to add Christmas colors. Do this before the candy clusters cool.

    Note

Do not skip on the vanilla candy coating or almond bark. It not only adds flavor, it allows the candy to set up and harden.

    How long do they last?

Your crockpot candy chocolate peanut clusters will last up to 3 weeks stored in an airtight container in cool space such as the pantry.

    Can you freeze peanut clusters?

Chocolate peanut clusters can be frozen in an air tight container for up to 3 months.

It is best to align the container with wax paper to prevent the candy from freezing onto the container.
