Easy Chocolate Chess Pie
Chocolate Chess Pie is a rich chocolate pie with a sugary crunchy crust and a gooey fudge-like filling. Easy to make with simple ingredients, this classic Southern dessert has been served on many tables for many years!
- 1 regular pie crust unbaked
- ½ cup butter salted
- 1 oz semi sweet baking chocolate bar
- 1 oz unsweetened baking chocolate bar
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt ½ cup butter, 1 oz semi sweet baking chocolate bar, and 1 oz unsweetened baking chocolate bar in a sauce pan on low heat.
In a mixing bowl, beat 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 tsp of vanilla.
Slowly mix in melted chocolate in mixing bowl with sugar mixture. Blend until fully mixed.
Pour chocolate into regular sized pie shell.
Bake 35 minutes.
Remove from oven. Cool on baking rack until completely cooled. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Note: You do not need to pre-bake pie shell.
Note: Use good chocolate baking bars! The chocolate is the star ingredient in this recipe. I have used cheap chocolate before and it did not turn out as good as using better quality chocolate!
