Ingredients for stuffed Italian sausage-Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese sticks, marinara sauce

    Ingredients

You will only need the following ingredients to make stuffed Italian sausages.

    • Italian sausage links-I prefer sweet Italian sausage, but you can use spicy or mild Italian sausage links.
    • Mozzarella sticks- Mozzarella sticks are easy and melt great for this recipe. However, you can substitute with mozzarella balls or shredded mozzarella.
    • Marinara sauce- I recommend Rao's Marinara sauce. It tastes homemade and is full of flavor. However, you can use whatever marinara sauce you like. I use a small jar for this recipe. However, if you are adding the sausage to pasta, use a large jar. Use half of the sauce for baking the sausages and half of the marinara to mix in with the pasta.

    1. Slice Italian sausage link down the center. Do not remove the casing. The casing keeps the the form of the sausage intact.
    2. Stuff the sausage with mozzarella cheese sticks. Then reform the sausage around the cheese stick.
    3. Add a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish.
    4. Top sauce with the stuffed sausages.
    5. Pour remaining sauce over the sausages.

    Tip:

Tip: If you want to serve Italian stuffed sausages with peppers and onions, cook your pepper and onions separately. Cooking the peppers and onions with the Italian sausages will make your dish watery.

Most notably, the easiest recipe I ever tried. I used vegan sausage and mozzarella and it turned out fantastic.
