This was so incredibly easy!! What a fun recipe that was so incredibly simple to make. The kids loved it! ★★★★★ Tracy

The combination of the flavorful sausage, gooey cheese, and rich tomato auce creates an INCREDIBLE entree. I love them served on pasta, topped with parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, for a meal on a busy weeknight. I will also cut the stuffed sauseges into small pieces and serve them with garlic bread as an appetizer when I am entertaining. I haven't met one person that did not like them.

This is definitely a winning recipe I hope you will also love. Enjoy! Xoxo -Katie.

Ingredients for stuffed Italian sausage-Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese sticks, marinara sauce

    Ingredient notes and substitutions

You will only need the following simpe ingredients to make stuffed Italian sausages.

    • Italian sausage links-I prefer sweet Italian sausage, but you can use hot Italian sausage links.
    • Mozzarella sticks- Mozzarella sticks are easy and melt great for this recipe. However, you can substitute with mozzarella balls or shredded mozzarella.
    • Marinara sauce- I recommend Rao's Marinara sauce. It tastes homemade and is full of flavor. However, you can use your favorite marinara sauce. I use a small jar for this recipe. However, if you are adding the sausage to pasta, use a large jar. Use half of the sauce for baking the sausages and half of the marinara to mix in with the pasta.

How do cook Italian stuffed sausages with peppers and onions?

If you want to serve Italian stuffed sausages with green peppers and onions, cook the pepper and onions separately. Cooking the green bell peppers and onions with the Italian sausages will make your dish watery.

Complete your meal with these tasty sides.

    • Lemon-Olive Oil Sautéed Spinach
    • Creamy Dill Cucumber Salad
    • Roasted Asparagus
    • Oven Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan
    • A salad with one of these delicious homemade dressings: Blue Cheese Dressing, Creamy Parmesan, or Balsamic Vinaigrette.

Most notably, the easiest recipe I ever tried. I used vegan sausage and mozzarella and it turned out fantastic.
