Ingredients
For this pretzel turtles recipe, you need just 3 ingredients!
- Rolo candy
- pretzel snaps-Checkerboard shape is best. You can substitute with the pretzel looped shape.
- pecan halves

Steps
Follow these easy steps to make pretzel turtles with Rolos.
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper or tinfoil. Lay pretzels in a single layer on parchment paper.
- Remove Rolos from the foil wrappers. Top each pretzel in the center with one Rolo candy.
- Bake for 4 minutes at 300 degrees.
- Remove from oven and immediately press one pecan half on the center of each Rolo.
- Completely cool. Then store in an airtight container until ready to eat.
Variation:
Variation: You can make “Santa Buttons” instead of Pretzel Turtles. To do this, substitute pecan halves for red or green M&Ms. You can also exchange out the pecans with walnuts to make walnut turtle candies.
How long do they last?
These turtle candies will last up to 2 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature, or 3 weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Can you freeze pretzel turtles?
You can freeze the pretzel turtles.
To freeze, lay them flat on a dish in the freezer. Allow them to freeze for 1 or more hours.
Then put them in ziplock freezer bag or an air tight container and freeze up to 3 months.
Freezing them before storing helps prevent the turtle candy from sticking together.

This recipe is featured in Women's View Magazine. I invited Alice (pictured above) to help make these with me.
Alice is one of my dear sweet neighbor friends.
This is a fantastic candy to make with the younger ones.
They can help with unwrapping the Rolos and the turtle candy assembly.
Don’t do any scolding if they steal a Rolo or two in the process, don’t.... that is part of the fun!
