    • pecan halves
    steps to make pretzel turtles

    Steps

Follow these easy steps to make pretzel turtles with Rolos.

    1. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or tinfoil. Lay pretzels in a single layer on parchment paper.
    2. Remove Rolos from the foil wrappers. Top each pretzel in the center with one Rolo candy.
    3. Bake for 4 minutes at 300 degrees.
    4. Remove from oven and immediately press one pecan half on the center of each Rolo.
    5. Completely cool. Then store in an airtight container until ready to eat.

    Variation:

Variation:  You can make “Santa Buttons” instead of Pretzel Turtles. To do this, substitute pecan halves for red or green M&Ms. You can also exchange out the pecans with walnuts to make walnut turtle candies.

    How long do they last?

These turtle candies will last up to 2 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature, or 3 weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

    Can you freeze pretzel turtles?

You can freeze the pretzel turtles.

To freeze, lay them flat on a dish in the freezer. Allow them to freeze for 1 or more hours.

Then put them in ziplock freezer bag or an air tight container and freeze up to 3 months.

Freezing them before storing helps prevent the turtle candy from sticking together.

This recipe is featured in Women's View Magazine. I invited Alice (pictured above) to help make these with me.

Alice is one of my dear sweet neighbor friends.

This is a fantastic candy to make with the younger ones.

They can help with unwrapping the Rolos and the turtle candy assembly.

Don’t do any scolding if they steal a Rolo or two in the process, don’t.... that is part of the fun!
