Worms for dinner?  Any takers? Ewe!!!! And YUM!!!

These Halloween hot dogs are creepy, gross-looking fun. Kids absolutely love them.

Adults gobble them up too! These hot dog worms are way cooler than regular hotdogs.

Be sure to make these at your next Halloween Party.

    Halloween Party Food

Years ago I discovered these Halloween hot dog worms in a Southern Living Magazine. Southern Living Magazine always has great ideas for the holidays.

When I saw this, I thought, "Oh my gosh, I have to make these!"

For years I threw my kids a Halloween party. I would make creepy looking food to include Halloween Spider Deviled Eggs and these Halloween hot dogs.

While they were both all a huge hit, the kids tore into the hot dogs.

What kid doesn't like hot dogs?  The adults like them too.

Because you cook them until they curl, they often get a little crispy on the outside.

This creates a different taste to your "everyday" hotdog, and you will find they are quite good.

    Which hot dogs to use?

We don't have a local butcher that makes hot dogs.

My personal favorite hot dogs to buy at the local grocery store are Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, Sabrett, Boar's Head, and Hebrew National.

    how to make

    • Slice the hotdogs into fours lengthwise. (photo 1)
    • Cook them on the grill. As they cook, they will begin to curl. (photo 2)
    • They will be curled once cooked. Serve them on a plate to creep out your guests! (photo 3)

Note: If you want them really curly, you can slice each dog into six pieces. However, they will be really thin slices.

How easy is that?  Aren't they gross and creepy looking?  They are a perfect addition to a Halloween Party.

Now, if you really want to go crazy, you can serve them with the green ketchup they put out for Halloween.

But for my parties, the kids wouldn't touch the green ketchup. That was waaaaayyyy too gross for them.

You can still serve these hot dog worms in buns with all your favorite toppings. I like to make a Halloween hot dogs station with all kinds of our favorite toppings. Here are fun topping ideas:
