If you read my Homemade Chunky Blue Cheese Salad Dressing post, you know that I have this thing against store bought salad dressings. There are a few store bought salad dressings that actually taste good, but most of them are made with artificial ingredients and have a blah, blah flavor. Salad Dressings are one of the easiest things to make homemade and you get such a big bang result for your labor. I mean seriously…. You throw all the stuff into a food processor or blender… I use my Cuisinart DFP-14BCNY 14-Cup Food Processor, Brushed Stainless Steel ( I absolutely love it. It is one of my favorite gadgets in the kitchen.)
And it comes out like this…
Now doesn’t that look so much better than that preserved for years, bland, made with tons of wierd artificial ingredients that you have no idea what they are, shelf salad dressing?
My Creamy Parmesan Salad Dressing is a little different than other similar recipes. I add in a little Dijon Mustard to give it a kick. The result is PERFECTION! It is creamy and peppery with just a little tang! HELLO! If you want to get a little braver, throw in some hot red chili flakes… but my household doesn’t like their dressings spicy. So I just garnish my salads with the hot red chili flakes because I love all things spicy.
This Creamy Parmesan Salad Dressing kicks up any regular salad. Throw in some grilled chicken or grilled shrimp and you have a healthy low carb meal. I have even used this recipe on a Greek Salad and it was FABULOUS! The feta tastes great with this recipe. Use a Gluten Free Mayo, Dijon Mustard, and Worcestershire Sauce and this recipe will be Gluten Free. Try it! You will love it! I promise!
